Ocean Electronics Product comes in OEM /Bulk Packaging
Most of Ocean Electronics' parts come in  bulk packaging from the OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer. This means that the product is in plain packaging without manuals, software or cables. Anything in retail packaging will be noted as such. Most items are new, recertified, refurbished or pulled, but without the retail box. Most of our product is part of pallet shipments that are split up for resale. Also some items do not have a manufacturer label but rather an OEM Label. (example: HP, Dell, Compaq or Generic white Label which would be stated in the item description.) Purchasing OEM or bulk packaged items is a great way to save money when you don't need the full retail kit. Most of our hard drives come in this type of OEM packaging, therefore you will usually receive only the "bare" drive.

Parts Condition
All products will be labeled according to condition as follows;

w/ Warranty
Brand New - Factory Sealed with the remaining Factory Warranty in original manufacturers packaging and taped, not cut. Unused product with or without the original manufacturers packaging. Most of our items come in OEM bulk packaging.
            
NEW
Brand New - New means either New in Retail Box or in most cases the item is new but in bulk packaging. Factory Sealed in original manufacturers packaging, tape and/or box are not cut. Unused product with or without original manufacturers warranty, Always with an Ocean Electronics 30-Day warranty.
           
NEW/Pull
New - Never Been Used. Pulls were previously installed in a computer system and "pulled" from that system for resale. These are "pulled"  from machines which were known to have never been deployed. No Data. No Bad Sectors. No problems. GUARANTEED

RECERT
RECERTIFIED - FACTORY RECERTIFIED - Computer products are returned for a variety of reasons, many of which are not related to an item’s ability to function properly. Such items are no longer sold as “new” and are returned to the manufacturer for testing & recertification, then sold as “recertified”. The item has been inspected thoroughly by the original manufacturer, restored to original specifications (if needed), tested and repackaged for resale. Ocean Electronics, Inc. specializes in the distribution of quality recertified hard drives and computer peripherals. All recertified product includes a 90-Day Limited Warranty. 

            
REFURB
REFURBISHED product that has been cleaned and refurbished to manufacturers specifications by the manufacturer or an authorized vendor. Open-box, returned and/or repaired electronics of all kinds are frequently sold as refurbished, always with a guarantee of functionality and at a discount to standard pricing. Ocean Electronics, Inc. also specializes in the distribution of quality refurbished hard drives and computer peripherals.

    
PULL
PULLS - SYSTEM PULLED - Pulled from working systems. Tested. Re-Tested Guaranteed. NO DOA - Will not be Dead-On-Arrival. Pulls were previously installed in a computer system and "pulled" from that system for resale. Items pulled out of working machines that are now being sold for parts. These items have been tested and are guaranteed to be working as new. Some of these systems were in use while others were in new systems that were never used and the drive never held data, and is basically still "new"

How Good Are Refurbished/Recertified Or "Pulled" Products?
Refurbished/recertified products are usually on sale and look like bargains, because they usually are! The question is, how good are the refurbished/recertified or pulled products?  Are refurbished or recertified products as good as new? How good are the system pulls?  Everything at Ocean Electronics is tested, everything is guaranteed to operate as "new"

There is slight differences between a refurbished or recertified product. Both terms are used interchangeably at most retailers, but we differentiate because we are a wholesaler to many of these retailers, and we describe the product as it actually is. Recertified is becoming increasingly popular as it conveys a “certification” process by "The Original Equipment Manufacturer" or OEM, whereas refurbished is more of "rework" which has been done in most cases by the manufacturer or by an authorized distributor.
