Our Return Policy - RMA - Return Merchandie Authorization

Customer satisfaction is one of our primary concerns. If you are not completely satisfied with an item you purchased, you may return it and we will exchange or refund your purchase.

Returns must be authorized by contacting Ocean Electronics directly to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA#). Authorization does not guarantee credit.  Call 603-766-2520 or E-mail RMA@ocean-electronics.net and ask for the RMA department to obtain an RMA number.

Please ensure that you have exhausted all configuration efforts with a questionable product you are returning  because if it is "working" it will spare your shipping expenses.

The customer may be recharged any applicable fees if subsequent inspection reveals damage, missing components, or incorrect reason for return. All returned products must include all components and original undamaged packaging.

Products returned for exchange must be in original condition and be received within 30 days of the invoice date. We reserve the right to refuse for return or charge a restocking fee of up to 20%, on an individual case basis. No returns will be accepted without an RMA number issued by Ocean Electronics, Inc.

In order for a shipping method to be chosen, and then paid for by you, a $1.00 fee will be charged for all return transactions, this will enable much faster service for your return.

Exchanging a Purchase is as easy as 1-2-3

  1. Obtain an RMA number from Ocean Electronics by calling 603.766.2520
  2. Ship the product back  to us via the shipping method of your choice.
  3. Choose the weight of the product you are requesting the RMA for.
  • RMA1 - 1lb hard drive returns, typically 2.5" Hard Drives
  • RMA2 - 2lb hard drive returns, typically 3.5" Hard Drives

Once you have selected the correct return, you can then choose your return shipping method dependant on how quickly you need the product back.

Please include your RMA number on all correspondance and packaging for faster service. We MUST receive the drive in question back, before any RMA replacement drives can be shipped.

For much faster service, please E-mail a copy of your original order, shipping address, and your return tracking number to RMA@ocean-electronics.net with the serial numbers of the drives in question.

An item returned for a replacement may be repaired, replaced or credited to your account at Ocean Electronics discretion, unless otherwise required by law.  Products with specific credit and return policies and deadlines must be returned within the time periods specified for each item.  All items sold through Ocean Electronics are subject to our Privacy Policy and Agreement

Physically damaged items cannot be returned.

Removal or alteration of a product's serial number or serial number stickers will automatically void your Ocean Electronics Return Policy. Products that are returned to Ocean Electronics with a missing, damaged or altered serial number will be refused RMA service and will not be received.

Please note: You are responsible for all shipping and handling costs when effecting a return. If you wish to exchange your purchase please follow the above return procedures and place a new order for the correct shipping method.

Standard Return Policy.

Unless another return policy is indicated, products sold by Ocean Electronics are covered by this Standard Return Policy. Merchandise under this Standard Return Policy may be returned a) within 30 days of the original invoice date for a credit, or b) within 30 days of the original invoice date for a replacement of the same item. All returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. All items returned for a credit are subject to a 20% restocking fee, at our discretion.Many manufacturers offer additional factory coverage. Hard Drives that are bumped or mishandled may be considered damaged and cannot be returned for credit or replacement. Due to the nature of Hard Drives as sensitive computer peripherals, physical damage includes (but is not limited to) improper handling and any other type of damage sustained by irregular use.

Ocean Electronics encounters bent pins regularly when inspecting physically damaged Hard Drives. Forcing a Hard Drive into position will not solve an installation problem and may void your Ocean Electronics, return policy. Buyers requesting a credit may have to pay a 20% restocking fee. Ocean Electronics will not cross-ship replacement Hard Drives

Processors (CPUs) Return Policy
Return for credit within: 30 days
Return for replacement within: 30 days
Physically damaged CPUs cannot be returned to Ocean Electronics.

Improper installation of CPU fans and/or improper clocking may cause CPUs to chip. CPUs that are chipped, burnt or have bent/broken pins are considered physically damaged and cannot be returned for credit or replacement. Physical damage includes (but is not limited to) improper handling and any other type of damage sustained by irregular use.

Ocean Electronics encounters bent pins regularly when inspecting physically damaged CPUs. Forcing a processor into position will not solve an installation problem and may void your Ocean Electronics return policy. Buyers requesting a credit may have to pay a 20% restocking fee. Ocean Electronics will not cross-ship replacement CPUs.

Desktop PC and Notebook PC Return Policy
Return for credit within: 30 days
Return for replacement within: 30 days (defective items only)
Under this policy all Desktop PC's and Notebooks are eligible for credit for the first 30 days only, and this supersedes all other return policies. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. Any Desktop PCs/Notebook that is deemed defective may be returned for a replacement within 30 days only. If a Desktop PC or Notebook PC is returned for a replacement, but no problems are found, the Desktop PC/Notebook will be returned at your (the buyer's) expense. You should be certain in your decision to purchase a Desktop PC/Notebook and must agree to this policy before completing your order. By confirming your order, you indicate your agreement to this policy.

A defective Desktop PC or Notebook that is returned for a replacement may be repaired or replaced at Ocean Electronics discretion, unless otherwise required by law. We strive to uphold our standard RMA processing time for these types of items; however, in some situations the item must be sent out for repairs. Unfortunately Ocean Electronics cannot expedite the RMA repair process in these situations, as we must abide by the repair facilities established processing time. Open-Box and bulk shipment Items

Ocean Electronics often sells items that are listed as "open-box." Because these items are sold at greatly reduced prices, they bear this limited 30-day return policy through Ocean Electronics. Such items can only be returned within 30 days of the applicable invoice date. Ocean Electronics cannot guarantee exact replacement products for these items, as their stock is limited. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of these items is with the buyer. These items have been tested for functionality, but may have superficial physical defects including (but not limited to) scratches, dings or dents. Should these items prove defective following their purchase, the buyer (not the manufacturer, distributor, or Ocean Electronics) assumes the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repairs, unless otherwise required by law. These items are not covered by any 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

If you purchase an Open-Box product you will receive an OEM bare bones item, meaning you will only receive the item itself. Accessories are NOT INCLUDED with Open-Box products, even if the missing accessory is required for the item to function properly.

Bulk Item and Palletized LTL Goods Return Policy

Return for replacement within: non-replaceable
Because these items are sold at greatly reduced prices, and the time and labor costs normally associated and included in combining these products, they bear this non-creditable return policy through Ocean Electronics. Such items can not be returned after the invoice date. Ocean Electronics cannot provide replacement service for these items, as their stock is limited. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of these items is with the buyer. Should these items prove defective following their purchase, the buyer (not the manufacturer, distributor, or Ocean Electronics) assumes the entire cost of all necessary replacement unless otherwise required by law. These items are not covered by any 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

Bulk Items (including but not limited to such items as Hard Drives, Laptop computers and Computer Systems) cannot be returned to Ocean Electronics for credit or replacement service. Therefore, you are urged to carefully examine the pallets and boxes your bulk item ships in before signing for the package. Should you observe any damage to the pallets, shrink wrapping and shipping boxes, or if the wrong product was sent, you must refuse delivery while the shipping courier is still on the premises. The item will be returned to Ocean Electronics and you will be credited the full amount.

If you determine upon inspection that the condition of the shipping pallets and shipping boxes is satisfactory, an adult is required to sign the shipping courier's release form to complete delivery. By signing this release, you are acknowledging and agreeing to Ocean Electronics Terms and Conditions, understanding that you cannot return the products to Ocean Electronics and that the condition of the delivery meets your expectations. After delivery, please read all included documentation and/or contact the manufacturer directly to determine applicable warranty coverage, if any.

Manufacturer's Warranties
Return for credit within: non-creditable
Return for replacement within: non-replaceable
Ocean Electronics does not offer any express warranties. However, many of the products available through Ocean Electronics are covered by Manufacturers' Warranties. If a product is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, it will be stated on that product's web page. Manufacturers' warranty details are typically available at the manufacturer's web site. Detailed manufacturer warranty information can also be obtained for free by contacting our Customer Service department. Please note that products in this category are non-creditable unless otherwise indicated.

Products that state "This item can be returned to the product manufacturer only" must be returned directly to the product manufacturer for repair or replacement, unless otherwise required by law. For these items, the warranty policy provided by the product manufacturer explicitly requires that any returns, repairs etc. be requested and processed directly by the consumer (or "end-user") of the item.

LCD Display Return Policy

There must be a minimum of 8 dead pixels to declare an LCD display defective and eligible for return.
Ocean Electronics sells many products such as Notebooks and Monitors that feature LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens. Ocean Electronics adheres to the dead-pixel policy that is observed by the majority of our manufacturers. In order to declare any product with an LCD screen "defective" and eligible for replacement or credit through any applicable Ocean Electronics Return Policy, there must be a minimum of 8 (eight) dead LCD pixels.

ADDITIONAL RMA TERMS
All RMA credits will be issued for the purchase of in-stock items, or credited to your account for future purchases.

Physical Damage Policy

Warranty Limitations
There are no other express warranties or conditions respecting the equipment. Implied warranties, if any, are limited to the duration of the express warranty provided herein. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts so that the foregoing limitation may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Ocean Electronics or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages including but not limited to loss of use, loss of data, loss of business or profits. Some localities do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
